Melton had covered the poor wood with hammered copper sheeting, and painted it cream with brown trim. Tusek operated the car on the 1954 Anglo-American Rally, still showing Melton's monogram.  (Article on Rally woes in Time, Sep. 20, 1954.)  Footage of car running in the rally is here, here, and here.  Kunkle did major body overhaul, and Hughes did complete restoration in the mid-1960s.  Rear disk brakes.
